I'm Baaaaack!
If there ever was a time to leave and head south of the border I think we picked it! We missed a brutal cold and snowy winter here in Michigan and all across the U.S. We had beautiful warm and sunny weather in Mexico this year. We met some "new" friends from Canada that we will meet up with again next year and also enjoyed spending time with our "old" friends that we have know for years. Tracey & Craig came for 10 days and we had a great time as always and hated to have the leave. I tried to relax and think I did pretty good. I lost count, but I read over 20 books......So glad the chemo is out of me and I can finally focus!
So now that I'm back home it's time to go back to the Dr.s. Blood work was done 9:00 am the morning after we got home...no sleeping in!! I'm so glad that I LIKE my oncologist I don't even dread having to go! My appointment was yesterday and everything looks ok! My CA-125 is 12 and all other counts etc are on track. So that means I don't have to start up my chemo again!!! We talked for quite awhile about the new "plan" of attack. He will see me on a monthly basis for the next few months, and when I feel comfortable and he feels comfortable we will go every 2-3 months. I told him it sounded like we were working on breaking up! I asked about cat scans or pet scans and he said he feels that the tests he runs on my blood work will tell him if anything is "going on" and he doesn't feel that it is necessary to have those tests done. When I was seeing Dr. Fata, he had me in for cat scans every 6 months. Again, Dr. Pugmire being the wonderful Dr. he is, said if I felt like I needed the tests and if it would make me feel better he would give me the papers to go and have it done. I think I've drank enough vanilla-strawberry barium for the time being so I'm good to not going. I will continue to pray that everything is going in the right direction and to remain cancer free for now
Looking forward to warm weather here in Michigan and not having to wear so many clothes! Life was so nice and easy when you just put on a bathing suit for the day!!!!
Peace & Love,
Marcia
