Scope

At least today's post is a little more light hearted!  I've been having alot of trouble swallowing the past few months and the Dr. thought it might be related to the new chemo I'm on.  So off today Bob and I go for a scope of my esophagus.  My appointment was for 11:00 am but they called and asked if I could come in earlier, say 10:30.  We get there and I don't get called back till 11:45............

Since I've been sick with the chemo from friday I haven't had much to eat or drink the past 4-5 days except rice and bananas, and not liquids at all since last night midnight.........Once back the one nurse blew the vein in my hand, so they had the anesthesiologist try the other one.  After two attempts he got it and then fist pumped the air and said, " Yes, I did it".  He also told me he was going to put me to sleep and I wouldn't feel anything, but the Dr. would talk to me before my colonoscopy!!!   Ah yea I'm having an endoscopy....my throat not colon.   He said, "Let me see your wrist band" and then , "Oh yea, endoscopy".   On the way into the room the nurses admired my shirt and shoes and asked where I'd gotten them, that they really like them.   LOL  After the procedure when I woke up I asked the nurse taking care of me, "Do I still have my clothes and shoes on?"

Needless to say we left and headed for the chinese restaurant to get some FOOD.....   I get to do this all over again in 3 weeks..the opening from my esophagus is closing at the stomach and they are stretching it out so I can swallow and eat without throwing up.

So you see, I do have an interesting life that gets crazier as all this goes on, I still have my sense of humor, if not I'd be a real hot mess...life goes on and I look forward to the adventures that are laying await for me......
